Every year, there is an abundance of Christmas celebrations in Friuli Venezia Giulia, with traditional Christmas markets in Udine, Pordenone, Trieste, Tarcento, Lignano Sabbiadoro, San Daniele del Friuli, and Gradisca d’Isonzo. All these places are especially charming during this time of the year.

Spilimbergo, also known as the “City of Mosaics“, is known not only for its Christmas market with artisan stands throughout the historic center but also for its numerous events that take place throughout the entire month.
Spilimbergo’s twin city is the Carinthian city of Sachsenburg in southern Austria. On December 3rd, in accordance with tradition, the gigantic fir tree in Piazza Garibaldi is lit and so are the eyes of young and old filled with the wonder of Christmas.
After all, that is what Spilimbergo promises and it always fulfills.
An extremely full calendar of events ensues for the entire month of December and through January 6th.
Children will also have fun taking a picture with Santa, taking part in a workshop or riding the Christmas train. Then on Sunday, December 18th there will be the “Santa Claus March of all ages“, a sort of Christmas marathon.

During this time of the year, Spilimbergo offers something for everyone from multiple concerts from classical to rock, art exhibitions, and the monumental nativity scene in the Cathedral.
Spilimbergo awaits!
