The Hotel

What to Do and See
Comacchio is located fifty kilometers from Ferrara. Due to the many bridges and canals that cross it, it is also called “Little Venice”. Built on thirteen islets grouped between the Po Delta and the sea, it was probably founded by the Etruscans. Today it enchants visitors for its monuments, as well as for its natural beauty.
The city plays host to interesting museums and, if you love contemporary art, a visit to the Alternative Remo Brindisi Museum is a must. The building is nestled in the pine forest and was built in the early 1970’s. This museum houses prestigious collections of contemporary art by Brindisi, with works by Fontana, Picasso, Warhol and Pollock.
But Comacchio is also nature. Its valleys are the heart of the Po Delta Park, a World Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO. The Comacchio Valleys form a wide lagoon area lying on the Adriatic, between the Po and its ancient tributary Reno. These valleys, with their brackish water and shallow depth, are the perfect habitat for many species of water birds. It’s easy to spot flamingos, black-winged stilts, spoonbills, pied avocets and foxes!
Whether you go to admire the architecture or explore nature, in Comacchio, it’s impossible to get bored!
