Strigarium takes place from May 4th to 6th in Bersaglio, a hamlet of Costa Volpino in the Bergamo province. It’s one of many small villages located in the Camonica Valley and on Lake Iseo.
This year marks the 9th edition of the event sponsored by the cultural association “La Gufaia”. The association was founded in 2009 to promote ancient, naturalistic cultures.
During the festival, Bersaglio warmly welcomes event-goers and will show off all its natural beauty. For 3 days this little hamlet turns into a lively center, taking the audience into a mystical, extraordinary world.
If you asked me why someone should take part in Strigarium, I would answer: if you enjoy… extraordinary performances, listening to experts telling ancient stories and talking about unusual topics, spending a couple of days immersed in mother nature discovering your ancient roots, increasing your cultural knowledge, tasting natural dishes and almost extinct drinks, and letting your kids rediscover genuine games, then Strigarium is definitely for you!
The festival begins at 4 pm on May 4th and at 9 pm the “holy fire” will be lit near the main stage and will burn until the last day. Strigarium finishes at 10 pm on Sunday with a closing ceremony organized by the association “Le Figlie dell’Antica Religione” (Daughters of Ancient Religion).
The complete agenda is on the official website www.strigarium.it. You can take part in meetings and attend courses. You can enjoy acrobatic performances and meditation rituals, live concerts and theater shows.
You can also visit the reconstruction of an ancient Celtic village and see falconry shows. Workshops and play areas will be specially designed for children and make the festival suitable for the whole family. The craft market and the street food area complete the picture of this amazing event.
