Noto Is Cinema

The 44th edition of the Infiorata di Noto (flower festival) will be just as magnificent as ever in one of the most unique settings in the world. The city of Noto in the Syracuse province of Sicily will roll out its flowered carpet from May 20- 23, 2023.

The carpet made of 400,000 fresh flowers is 122 meters long and 7 meters wide and will be visible for the entirety of the festival thanks to an irrigation system.

This year the theme is film and all 16 of the scenes will reflect various movies and television series that have chosen Noto as their setting during the past few years. Via Corrado Nicolaci with the Church of Montevergini and the Principe Nicolaci Palace with some of the most beautiful balconies in the entire world will create an atmosphere like nowhere else.

The Cathedral of San Nicolò, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002, and the entire city of Noto will all be involved with various events, performances, and food markets planned over the four-day festival. The three magnificent staircases that connect the lower city to upper Noto will be uniquely decorated as they are every year on the occasion of the event.
