Home » Lucca Comics & Games 2022: Hope

An imaginative world will soon open up before your eyes at Lucca Comics & Games 2022. Comics, gaming, video games, fantasy, manga, anime, animated cinema, TV series, and cosplay all await you at the largest event of its kind in Europe and the second largest in the world. It takes place in the beautiful Tuscan city of Lucca’s historic center from October 28th to November 1st, 2022. The theme of this edition is simply, “Hope”.

“Hope”

Let’s start with the inspiration for this edition with the poster designed by the master of imaginative realism, Ted Nasmith. In A New Hope, the first film in the Star Wars saga we remember Obi-Wan Kenobi when he quotes, “Hope – there’s something I haven’t heard of in a long time.” Nasmith depicts a deity inspired by Yavanna from the Tolkien pantheon. The Lady of the Dawn is full of symbolism especially in reference to Italy: the olive tree, and the colors of the Italian flag. The historic center of Lucca is also present with his depiction of the Cathedral of San Martino.
