Luci d’Artista is the spectacular exhibition of luminous artwork set up in the squares and along the streets of Salerno; real masterpieces of light and color that will take your breath away.
For years now, Luci d’Artista in Salerno has become an essential Christmas holiday event. Thanks to its creativity and imagination, it pulls visitors into a fascinating universe. Some of the past themes have been enchanted gardens, fairy tales, planetary constellations, celestial phenomena, circus evolutions and sailboats on the sea.
2019-2020 Dates
The city lights will be lit from November 15, 2019 and will last until the end of January 2020. Every year, thousands of people and tourists go to Salerno to enjoy the charming atmosphere and to walk among the colors and lights of the beautiful artwork.
The inauguration will take place on November 15th at the Villa Comunale di Salerno with the lighting of the Salerno garden that will turn into an enchanting tale that will bring the characteristics of the city to life.
Giant Ferris Wheel
With the lighting of the Artists’ Lights, the 55 meter high Ferris Wheel will also be operating in Sottopiazza della Concordia, thus allowing visitors and residents to enjoy a spectacular view of the city from up above. New to this year’s edition, the massive wheel will be equipped with 36 comfortable cabins with real leather seats, safe and compliant for people with disabilities. It also features a VIP cabin furnished with walnut wood, leather seats, a TV, and a minibar. All the cabins are connected to an audio diffusion wire system and each person can remain “suspended” for 15-20 minutes.
In addition, along the waterfront, you can enjoy the renowned Christmas Market with its characteristic wooden houses and Santa’s village.
The giant Christmas tree in Piazza Portanova is always a must-see and it will be exciting to see how it will be decorated this year.
