If you’ve been dreaming about a getaway in the Tuscan hills and are ready to make that dream a reality, allow us to suggest staying at the Il Casalino B&B farmhouse. Immersed in the wide-open countryside known as the Lower Merse Nature Reserve (Riserva Naturale del Basso Merse), it doesn’t get any more authentically Tuscan than this!
Location, Location, Location!
As the saying goes, “location is everything” and Il Casalino is perfectly situated between the provinces of Siena and Grosseto in the municipality of Civitella Paganico. It’s impossible not to fall in love with the farmhouse at first sight. It is exactly what you imagine a rural Tuscan farmhouse to be from its rustic brick exterior to its cypress trees.
There are various options from which to choose when staying at Il Casalino. Whether your needs are a large, independent living space for up to 8 guests or a simple apartment for two, you’ll find the perfect arrangement here. Private terraces and even whirlpool tubs are just some of the features you’ll find at this agritourism. The interior reflects the Tuscan farmhouse style with exposed wooden beams and antique furniture.
A swimming pool, a large garden with a barbecue, and a covered patio will allow you to enjoy the natural surroundings in the warmer months. Guests also have the option of choosing to take advantage of the authentic Tuscan food prepared and served on-site.
In the Surrounding Area
One could easily stay in the immediate area and have a perfectly lovely holiday, but when in Tuscany, get out and see Tuscany! The closest attraction is the Terme di Petriolo just 15 minutes away by car. These are natural hot springs that have been utilized for their healing properties since Etruscan and Roman times.
In just an hour by car, you can visit one of Tuscany’s most beloved hilltop villages in the famous Val d’Orcia, Montalcino. Enjoy wine tasting in the cantinas of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, one of the most well-known wines in the world.
Within an hour and a half by car, you can also visit Siena, Montepulciano, Chianciano Terme, San Galgano (the original “Sword in the Stone”), and so many more! From the train station in Civitella Paganico, you can connect to all major Tuscan cities via Siena.
Feel “At Home”
If you’re looking for an authentic Tuscan experience, then look no further than Il Casalino! When you stay here, you’re part of the famiglia, and Lorenzo and Maria will welcome you with open arms making your stay a memory that will last a lifetime.
