From Wednesday August 30th, the 37th edition of the Onion Festival will take place in Cannara, in the province of Perugia.
The festival is now a big-time event of the Umbrian summer and will last until September 10th.
Like every year the smell of onion will spread through the streets of this town and will welcome tourists and local people. Everyone will be able to enjoy good food made with onion but also much more.
The gastronomic event will be, as always, a moment of entertainment, music and games. Participants will have the opportunity to spend their evenings surrounded by music and culture.

The festival will also be a great opportunity for those who do not know Umbria to visit one of the greenest regions of Italy. They can go to Assisi and visit the places of worship consecrated to St. Francis and Saint Clare (two important patron saints of Italy). They can also stop in Gubbio and Spoleto, where the popular Italian Tv Series Don Matteo is shot.
This festival can be the perfect occasion for a weekend getaway to enjoy the last days of summer.
