The 2018 edition of Cremona’s “Festa del Torrone” is going to be dedicated to the
twentieth century!
From Saturday, November 17th to Sunday, November 25th, a 9-day festival will transform Cremona into a national capital of entertainment and enjoyment!
This edition will be dedicated entirely to the twentieth century. The “short century” as it
is often called, the century of two world wars but also of discovery, the century of
communication and globalization, the century that, for better or for worse, accelerated history, science, art and social change.
It will be particularly focused on the biggest Cremonese protagonist of the twentieth
century: Mina. The Tigress of Cremona will be at the center of many initiatives, shows,
concerts, musicals, Flower Festival, performances and more. All to celebrate a unique
and wonderful artist who carried the city’s name across national borders.
The goal of SGP Events, the company that has been organizing the event for 11 years now, is to outdo itself by exceeding its success in recent years. In 2017, there were 300,000 in attendance in 9 days, 80 tons of torrone nougat sold, over 350 buses arrived in town, 400 campers from all over Italy, and restaurants and clubs in the city besieged by visitors.
And to do that, it will not only focus on the essence of the festival, but also on many innovations. In fact, there will be giant buildings of nougat, the reenactment of the wedding between Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti and the “Gold Nougat”, but there will also be historical initiatives, animation and entertainment.
So, don’t miss the opportunity to come to Cremona from November 17th to 25th .
