Stay in the heart of Tuscany and learn to cook like the locals!
Book a minimum of a 2-night stay in this farmhouse in the Basso Merse (or Lower Merse Valley) in the province of Grosseto. You’ll enjoy the hospitality of the owners Lorenzo and Maria Grazia and prepare traditional Tuscan dishes in an exciting cooking class.
The farm is surrounded by the unspoiled nature of the Basso Merse Nature Reserve, halfway between Grosseto and Siena. It overlooks the hills of Montalcino and is just a few minutes from the Terme di Petriolo.
The structure consists of a cozy farmhouse away from traffic and noise, where you can relax and enjoy the excellent views of the Tuscan countryside. Isolated, but close to cultural centers and a natural oasis, this farm is an excellent central location for day-trips and food and wine tours.
The farm also offers a swimming pool (5m x 16m and 2.10m deep), a barbecue and outdoor tables in the garden.
There are various options: from the independent two-person apartment to an apartment that can accommodate up to eight people. Some rooms are equipped with whirlpool tubs and private terraces and there are also rooms that can accommodate guests with disabilities. You can choose the apartment that best suits your needs!

The Cooking Lesson
You will have the opportunity to prepare an entire traditional Tuscan meal: from fresh pasta, to the sauce, to the dessert- all with simple and genuine ingredients. For those who already know how to cook, it’s the perfect opportunity to learn some of the best-kept secrets of the local cooks.
If you suffer from food allergies or intolerances, or if there are simply dishes that you do not particularly like, do not hesitate to contact Lorenzo and Maria Grazia to change the menu of your cooking class.
The lesson lasts three hours and takes place in the professional kitchen of the farm, so that you have all the space and equipment necessary to prepare great dishes.
At the end of the cooking lesson, you’ll be able to enjoy the exquisite dinner prepared by you! You will also be served an additional dish based on local, seasonal ingredients. To accompany your meal, there will be an excellent red Montecucco DOC, a wine produced exclusively in the province of Grosseto and considered one of the major Italian DOC wines for its refined taste. Water and coffee are included in the dinner.
The cooking class is organized for groups of up to eight people and all guests aged 10 and up can participate. The experience includes the presence of alcohol so please note that alcohol will only be served to guests who are of legal drinking age.
