Cascina Mondella is a charming Bed and Breakfast located in the eastern Biella region, in an area with a long tradition of winemaking. The B&B is located inside an ancient village called the “Castello”, with a paved courtyard and a welcoming building. The name “Mondella” derives from the noble Mondella family of Biella who were owners of a large agricultural complex in Lessona in the 1600s. The current building that now houses the B&B was built in 1776.
The Cascina Mondella B&B is the perfect location for relaxing in the countryside and is also convenient for exploring other tourist attractions in Piedmont. Views are breathtaking landscapes, including rows of vineyards, cypresses, and the majestic Biella Prealps in the background.
The property also includes a large terraced Italian garden with a barbecue area and woods where you can gather chestnuts, mushrooms, and blackberries depending on the season. Cascina Mondella offers a unique experience that combines nature and history in a fascinating setting.

The most characteristic elements of the room on the first floor are its wooden ceiling with exposed beams and the stone floor of the bathroom. They blend perfectly with the rest of the room where various shades of red dominate. From the windows, guests will enjoy the surrounding landscape which changes according to the seasons.

The courtyard of the Bed and Breakfast is truly charming. As soon as you cross the entrance threshold, you’ll feel as if you stepped back in time. The old well adds even more history and tradition to this outdoor space.

I ended up here by pure chance. The 17th century atmosphere permeates the B&B. The room was furnished and decorated with period antiques and was very clean. The owner was extremely nice, very attentive, and available. Even though I only stayed for one night, she made sure I had everything I needed. There is also a marvelous cellar where they hold wine tastings. I recommend it to anyone who wants to relax in nature.
