Are you wondering where to kickstart the Holiday Season in Italy? In Arezzo, of course! The Tuscan city boasts the largest and most original Tyrolean market in all of Italy and it awaits you in the splendid setting of Piazza Grande, right in the historic center.

2023/2024 Dates

More than 30 wooden chalets and 3 food chalets (1 more than the 2022 edition) will be set up in the piazza from November 18 through January 1, 2024. The market will not be open every day but from Thursday to Sunday until December 21st and then daily until January 1st, 2024.

You will feel like you are in a typical Austrian or German mountain village in this truly magical setting. Objects of all kinds, gift ideas, handcrafted items, and typical Tyrolean products are everywhere you look and will certainly please every member of the family.

For the Little Ones and the “Big” Little Ones

For children (and also for “big children” because at Christmas everyone can relive the innocent joys of childhood) there will be the Santa Claus’ House in the Palazzo di Fraternita in Piazza Grande and the Lego Brick House in the Contemporary Art Gallery of Piazza San Francesco.

Big Lights Show

And for the whole family, the highly anticipated Big Lights Show is back every evening. The spectacular light show with music and animation will be projected onto the facades of the buildings in Piazza Grande starting from 5pm to 9pm.

Christmas Aromas

The dining chalets offer an explosion of typical Tyrolean flavors from first courses to desserts. New this year is the chalet entirely dedicated to Tyrolean first course dishes such as dumplings (canederli), spatzle, polenta, and raclette with melted cheese. You can’t skip out on the pretzels, speck, frankfurters, and classic desserts such as strauben, hot chocolate, and to sip while you shop, mulled wine and craft beers.
